Virginia Commonwealth Games Horse Trial

We are very excited to provide this Discipline for the Commonwealth games! As you probably guessed, this is the most expensive of the disciplines to run and we are keeping our entry fees at schooling show prices while trying to provide a Championship quality event and we could use your help!

Directions
Address: The Virginia Horse Center, 487 Maury River Rd, Lexington, VA 24435. From I - 81 North or South: Take Exit 191 to I - 64 West for 1 mile to Exit 55 (follow signs for VA Horse Center). Right to Route 11 North. First left to Route 39, Maury River Rd. VHC 3/4 mile on left. From I-64 East: To Exit 55, Turn Left. Go 3/10 mile, turn left on Route 39, Maury River Rd. As above.

Thursday: Arrival, Check in and Team Stall Decorating Noon to 5pm. Opening ceremonies, torch lighting and Competitor meet and greet 5pm in Coliseum. XC Courses open 3pm.
Friday: 8am Dressage ALL Levels  . 
Saturday:  8am Cross country ALL Levels.  5pm Bonfire & competitors party on top of the hill by Pavilion
Sunday: 8am Show Jumping ALL levels. 1- 3pm - Team Awards and Closing Ceremonies

Horse Trial Entry: $150. 
CT-A: $95.00.
CT-B:$105 
Dressage Test Only: $35. 
Stabling:$120.00 entire weekend (Thursday - Sunday) or $55/night. Tack stalls: $120.00 entire weekend (Thursday - Sunday) or $55 per night. (TEAM TACK STALLS FREE) Grounds Fee: If not stabling then$50.00 per horse, per day. 
Non-competing horses: $50.00 plus stabling.
Changes after midnight of CD: $25.00 Changes after times set: $25.00 Changes in Show Office: $50.00. LATE FEE: $50.00.  
Refunds: Before C.D.-Less $25 non-refundable office fee; After C.D-No refund.
Competition cancellation- Refund if possible based on expenses.
Waitlist: In the event of oversubscription (based on entry numbers and scheduling) a waitlist will be maintained as follows: Based on complete, paid entries, horses will be accepted off the waitlist to fill scratches (by level/division). The waitlist will expire on July 21 at 11:59PM. Any scratch filled from the waitlist will be refunded following the event minus the office fees.
 
Entries
All Entries are to be online at either www.equestriangamesva.com or postal and paid in full prior to the event. All entry fees include a $25 non-refundable office fee. All entries will receive confirmation via e-mail.  C.D.-Less $25 non-refundable office fee; After C.D-No refund. Competition cancellation – Refund if possible based on expenses. Coggins within 12 months required for all horses. Health certificates required for all horses in accordance with state law. Non-competing horses are welcome on grounds. $50.00 per horse, plus appropriate stabling fees. Must sign waiver in office and be issued a non-competing horse number. Riding will be restricted to published times and areas. All Withdrawals must be made in writing, postmarked, emailed, or faxed, no later than Closing Date. All changes to entry must be made in writing before C.D. Any change to entry/stabling /post entries after C.D. a processing fee will be charged as detailed above.

HT: Individual and Team Prizes and Medals 1st thru 3rd , ribbons 4th thru 8th.

Stabling/Veterinarian
All Horses please check in at Stabling office and show a current negative coggins test within 12 months and Health Certificate on horse traveling over state lines. Please adhere to the arrival times. We will do our best to accommodate emergencies, but please plan to arrive within the hours listed on the schedule. Horses requiring additional stabling nights must e-mail ahead for arrangements. We have 800 permanent stalls on grounds with stall doors provided, no initial bedding. Feed/hay/bedding available for purchase on site. All stabling requests must be in writing by closing date and additional requests or changes after CD may result in a $25 fee. Please no changes to stabling unless approved by the stable manager. Cross-Country
CONTINUED IMPROVEMENTS BEING MADE TO THE CROSS COUNTRY COURSES, ground will be aerated, watered and mowed throughout the summer to make optimal ground, even though we can not control mother nature, every effort will be made to have the best track and ground possible.
COURSES WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUS EVENTS, WILL BE CONSIDERED  CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL COURSES WITH OPTIONS AT THE MORE DIFFICULT COMBINATIONS FOR THE LESS EXPERIENCED PAIRS.  MEANT TO BE AN EDUCATIONAL AND CONFIDENCE BUILDING EVENT WITH LOTS TO SEE AND SCHOOL. "Well worth your money!"
All T-2100- 2300 m @ 450 - 470mpm, expect water, banks, ditches, angled combinations. All N-1800m- 2000m @ 350-400 mpm, expect water, banks , ditch/log, combination. All BN- 1600m-1800 @ 300-350mpm, expect water, intro ditch, step up. Starter: 10 - 12 fences very inviting course with some terrain water option. Intro 8- 10 fences very inviting course with some terrain and water option. All distances are approx. and will be confirmed at the event. 

Other Information
Absolutely NO ATVs allowed at VHC. No motorized vehicles on the cross country course. -Bikes and E Bikes allowed at discretion of management based on weather and footing. Cross-country courses only available as scheduled by VHC - please visit the website for more details. Levels may be divided or combined as entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry. Food available on grounds. Dogs must be leashed. Unleashed dogs will be fined $50 . Will be enforced by security.  SUBCHAPTER EV-9 DRESS 1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. a. At Federation licensed and endorsed Events, Athletes must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801): b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a Horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. See GR801. c. It is the responsibility of the Athlete, or the parent or guardian or trainer of the junior Athlete to ensure that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards for protective headgear intended for equestrian use, is properly fitted, and in good condition. The Federation, Organizer, and Licensed Officials are not required to verify compliance. “Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith”.
